Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has revealed that the Atlas Lions will adopt a balanced and disciplined approach throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The North African side is among the 48 nations set to compete at the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Morocco has been drawn into Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti in what is expected to be one of the tournament’s most competitive groups.

Ouahbi Highlights New Tactical Identity

Speaking ahead of the competition, Ouahbi explained that Morocco’s playing style under his leadership will be closer to what the team displayed in recent friendly matches against Ecuador and Paraguay rather than during their Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

“We are not the same staff as before, and our approach is different. What we showed against Ecuador and Paraguay is closer to what we want now,” the Morocco coach stated.

The 51-year-old tactician believes the team is gradually developing a more flexible and adaptable football identity ahead of the global tournament.

Morocco Will Adapt to Every Opponent

Ouahbi stressed that Morocco’s approach will change depending on the opposition, insisting his players must avoid becoming reckless in attack regardless of the opponent.

“Our goal is to be effective. Playing Brazil does not mean defending for 90 minutes, and facing Scotland or Haiti does not mean attacking recklessly,” he explained.

“Brazil are very dangerous if you give them space. I want a team prepared for every possible scenario.”

The Morocco manager believes tactical balance and intelligent decision-making will be crucial if the Atlas Lions are to progress deep into the tournament.

Atlas Lions Prepare for Group C Challenge

Morocco will begin their World Cup campaign against Brazil on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in what is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the group stage.

The Atlas Lions will then face Scotland on June 19 at Gillette Stadium before concluding the group phase against Haiti on June 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Morocco’s final pre-World Cup training camp is scheduled to begin on May 29 as the squad intensifies preparations for the tournament.
