World Cup 2026: Morocco 4-2 Haiti Player Ratings

Morocco booked their place in the Round of 32 with an entertaining 4-2 victory over Haiti in their final Group C match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Despite falling behind twice, the Atlas Lions produced an impressive comeback, with Bilal El Khannouss delivering a man-of-the-match performance as Morocco finished second in the group behind Brazil.

Match Report

The match began in dramatic fashion as Haiti stunned Morocco with the opening goal, which was eventually recorded as an own goal by goalkeeper Yassine Bounou. Haiti doubled their advantage through a spectacular long-range strike from Wilson Isidor, leaving Morocco with a mountain to climb.

Morocco responded superbly. Captain Achraf Hakimi pulled one back before tournament star Ismael Saibari equalised before halftime to swing the momentum firmly in the Atlas Lions’ favour. The North Africans dominated possession after the break and continued to pile pressure on the Haitian defence.

Substitutes proved decisive in the second half. Soufiane Rahimi put Morocco ahead for the first time in the 78th minute with a composed finish before Gessime Yassine sealed the victory late on after a VAR review confirmed his goal. The victory secured Morocco’s place in the knockout stages, while Haiti exited the tournament without a point despite producing an admirable attacking display.
