As the 2014 World Cup in Brazil approaches, concerns have been raised about the country’s preparedness to host the event. Issues include delayed stadium renovations, construction site stoppages, and concerns about the telecommunications network’s ability to handle the expected increase in mobile traffic during the tournament. Some stadiums, such as the one in Sao Paulo, are behind schedule, and the threat of exclusion looms over venues like Arena da Baixada in Parana. Additionally, construction sites, including an airport renovation project and a training center in Manaus, have faced legal challenges due to non-compliance with working conditions. The telecommunications network is also at risk of being overloaded during the event, prompting urgent investments of nearly 80 million euros by national operators.
