Pele believes that Algeria could be the surprise team of the upcoming Football World Cup. During his visit to Algiers, the Brazilian football legend expressed confidence in the Fennecs’ ability to make an impact in the tournament.
“Football is full of surprises, and the Algerian selection is capable of creating one during the Brazilian World Cup,” Pelé stated during a press briefing.
He cited past examples of surprising outcomes in World Cup history, such as France defeating Brazil in 1986 and Algeria’s victory against Germany in 1982.
Pele’s visit to Algiers was part of his role as the international ambassador for Coca Cola. Algeria recently secured a 2-0 victory against Slovenia in a friendly match.
