The Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, had a convincing 7-1 victory against Deportivo, a second division team, in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the World Cup play-offs against Egypt. The goals came from Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Mahatma Otoo, Wakaso, Majeed Warris, Sulley Muntari, and an own goal from a Deportivo defender. The match allowed coach Kwesi Appiah to evaluate different players and strategies ahead of the crucial play-off matches.
