Cameroon’s Football Federation, Fecafoot, has unveiled its preliminary squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The announcement was accompanied by a media event that showcased the team’s new jerseys and featured a presentation of the federation magazine.
The squad, selected by coach Volker Finke, includes several key players, with Chelsea’s Samuel Eto’o leading the attack. Other notable players in the squad are Alexandre Song, Jean II Makoun, Vincent Aboubakar, Mohamadou Idrissou, and Landry NGuemo.
One surprise inclusion in the squad is Cédric Djeugoue from Coton Sport, who has not previously been capped.
Cameroon’s preparation for the World Cup includes four friendly matches. They will face Macedonia on May 26 and Paraguay on May 29, both in Austria. On June 1, they have a high-profile match against Germany in Möchengladbach, followed by a final warm-up game against Guatemala on June 7 in Yaoundé.
In the World Cup, Cameroon has been drawn into Group A alongside Brazil, Croatia, and Mexico. Their first match is against Mexico on June 13.
