The Egyptian national football team, the Pharaohs, is set to play friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Ghana in January 2013. The assistant coach, Diaa Al Sayed, revealed that the matches will be held in Abu Dhabi. The fixtures against Ivory Coast and Ghana are scheduled for January 10 and 13, 2013, respectively, and will serve as preparation for the Pharaohs ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, where Egypt will face Zimbabwe in March. The friendly matches will also provide an opportunity for Ghana and Ivory Coast to make final adjustments before the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
