Draw Set for African Women’s Championship Final Phase in Namibia
The draw for the final stage of the 9th African Women’s Championship is scheduled for July 19, with the ceremony to be held at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in Namibia’s capital.
The tournament, featuring eight teams — South Africa, Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, and host nation Namibia — will take place from October 11 to 25, 2014.
The stakes are high, as the top three teams from this championship will earn qualification for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, scheduled for June next year.
Teams will eagerly await the draw to discover their opponents and prepare for what promises to be a highly competitive contest on African soil.
