The Lionesses of Senegal faced another setback in their third and final match, determined to salvage their honor, but were unfortunately defeated 5-0 by Equatorial Guinea. With this result, Senegal concludes the 8th edition of the African Women’s Football Cup without securing a victory.

From the early minutes of the match, Bassouaré Diaby’s players faced challenges, conceding their first goal due to a defensive error by central defender Bineta Sylla, scored by Jade. Ten minutes later, the Brazilian-origin striker from Nzalang added a second goal with a well-executed cross shot between the legs of the Senegalese goalkeeper.

Adriana Tiga capitalized on an error by the Senegalese goalkeeper, Oulèye Dièye, scoring the third goal for Nzalang Nacional Feminino. The Equatoguinean team showcased a dominant performance, providing a thrilling spectacle for their enthusiastic fans. Unfortunately, it marks the end of the road for the Lionesses of Senegal in the competition, with three defeats in three matches.
