Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of securing the signing of defender Emmanuel Agbadou from Stade Reims, bolstering their defensive options as they battle to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.

The deal is reportedly worth
18 million Euros with an additional 2 million Euros in performance-related add-ons is a statement of intent from Wolves, who are determined to strengthen their backline following a challenging first half of the season.

The 27-year-old Cote d’Ivoire centre-back has impressed in Ligue 1, making 15 appearances this season and captaining Reims on several occasions.

Known for his composure, leadership, and aerial dominance, Agbadou will bring experience and stability to Wolves, who have been hampered by the summer departure of Maximilian Kilman and a season-ending ACL injury to Yerson Mosquera.

Sitting precariously in 17th place, the team desperately needs reinforcements to solidify their defence and avoid a prolonged relegation battle.

Pending a successful medical and work permit approval, Agbadou will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for a further year.

This move reflects Wolves’ proactive approach in the January transfer window, signalling their determination to turn their season around.

Agbadou moved to Reims in June 2022 after a successful two seasons at Belgian club KAS Eupen, where he joined from Tunisian side US Monastir.

Bournemouth set €40m price tag on Burkinabè forward Dango Ouattara amid transfer interest

Bournemouth have placed a €40 million valuation on Dango Ouattara, as speculation grows over the Burkinabè forward’s future following reported frustration with his role at the Premier League club. Despite being a regular fixture in the Cherries’ line-up, Ouattara is said to be increasingly unsettled by his deployment across various positions since the return of teammate Evallisson from injury. While he has continued to feature prominently, the 22-year-old has expressed dissatisfaction with being used out of position, frequently operating as a full-back or wide midfielder rather than in his preferred role as a central attacker. The forward’s discontent is all the more notable considering his productivity when used up front.

CAF Champions League: Former Egypt star explains why Pyramids FC’s goal against Orlando Pirates was DISALLOWED

Former Egypt international Ahmed Shobir has shed light on the controversial disallowed goal during Pyramids FC’s CAF Champions League semi-final clash against Orlando Pirates. The first leg of the semi-final ended in a goalless draw last week at Orlando Stadium. However, the goal was ruled out for offside, despite a deflection off Orlando defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi. Speaking on Sports FM, Shobir revealed he consulted with referee colleagues who confirmed both disallowed goals from Pyramids were the correct decisions. “Pyramids scored two goals against Orlando.
