Woltemade begins new Juventus chapter after Newcastle spell

Juventus have brought in Germany striker Nick Woltemade from Newcastle United on loan until 30 June 2027, giving manager Luciano Spalletti another option in attack.

The Italian club confirmed the move on its official website, welcoming the 24-year-old forward to Turin after his spell in the Premier League.

“Now, Woltemade is looking forward to a new adventure in Italy, and we can’t wait to see him in the Juventus shirt. Welcome to Juventus, Nick,” the club said in a statement.

Juventus also posted a welcome message on social media, describing Woltemade as their new “frontman” and sharing an image of him in the club’s colours.

Woltemade came through the youth system at Werder Bremen before making his first-team debut in 2020. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at SV Elversberg, gaining further experience before moving on permanently to Stuttgart in the summer of 2024.

His time at Stuttgart proved to be a major breakthrough. Woltemade scored 18 goals in 36 appearances and helped the club win the German Cup, performances that earned him a move to Newcastle United in 2025.

During his time with Newcastle United, Woltemade played 53 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists. His loan move to Juventus now gives him the chance to continue his career in Serie A and work under Spalletti.

The transfer arrives at an important moment for Juventus, who are reshaping their attacking options. Dusan Vlahovic has left the club on a free transfer for Besiktas, while Jonathan David is also close to departing for Atletico Madrid.

Woltemade’s arrival therefore provides additional depth for the Bianconeri as they seek to compensate for the expected changes in the forward line. Juventus will hope that the German’s goalscoring record at Stuttgart can be reproduced in Italy after a less productive spell with Newcastle United.

The move also marks the latest stage of a rapid rise for Woltemade, who progressed from Werder Bremen’s academy to the senior side, developed further during his loan with SV Elversberg, and then established himself at Stuttgart before moving to England.

He will now begin a new chapter with Juventus, with his loan agreement running through the end of June 2027.
