WOLFSBURG SET TO MAKE GUILAVOGUI DEAL PERMANENT
After a successful loan spell, Josuha Guilavogui is poised to make a permanent switch from Atlético Madrid to VfL Wolfsburg. According to L’Équipe, the Bundesliga side is ready to activate the €6 million purchase option for the French midfielder, who was born in Guinea.
Guilavogui, who joined Atlético in 2013 but struggled to find a place in Diego Simeone’s plans, made just one appearance for the Spanish club. He was loaned out to Wolfsburg in August 2014, where he quickly became a key figure in the squad.
Last season, the 24-year-old impressed in 42 appearances, scoring two goals and playing a pivotal role in the club’s midfield alongside Luiz Gustavo. Wolfsburg’s management has been pleased with his consistency, physicality, and tactical intelligence, which has helped the club maintain its competitive edge in the Bundesliga and in Europe.
A permanent transfer to Germany would mark a fresh chapter in Guilavogui’s career, offering him stability and regular first-team football — something he was unable to secure in Spain.
An official announcement is expected soon, as Wolfsburg finalizes the terms with Atlético Madrid.
