French defender of Malian descent, Ibrahima Konate, was over the moon on Wednesday night after helping Liverpool defeat PSG in the Uefa Champions League.
The centre-back was in action for his side and played a key role in ensuring the English Premier League side secured a 1- victory in the first leg encounter of their Round 16 tie.
Speaking after the game, Konate, who was born in Paris, said it felt special.
“It’s very special. I had the opportunity to play with Liverpool as well in the final of the Champions League and we didn’t win.
“Today was more special because we played against PSG and a lot of my friends were there, they were with our fans, and I’m very happy. Let’s go again,” Ibrahima Konate said.
In the interview, Konate further heaped praise on Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker for his amazing performance in the game.
“Ooh la la! I’ll try to think but I don’t think so. Thank you Ali today – he had a very great night and I hope we will have this Ali until the end of the season,” Konate added.
