Winners Osawe: Alemannia Aachen eye move for Nuremberg defensive midfielder

Germany-Nigeria youth international Winners Osawe of 1.FC Nuremberg is being linked with a move to 3. Liga side Alemannia Aachen as the third-tier club look to reinforce their midfield options. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder, who is valued at around 450,000, has emerged as a target as Aachen explore additions ahead of the new campaign.

Osawe returned to Nuremberg this summer after a loan spell at Schweinfurt 05, where he gained further senior experience in the Regionalliga Bayern. Before that stint, he had already featured for Nurembergs first team in both the 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, underlining his exposure to professional football despite his age.

Born in Berlin and eligible for both Germany and Nigeria, Osawe has already tasted success on the international stage, having been part of the Germany Under-17 side that won both the World Cup and European Championship in 2023. Domestically, he was also involved as Nurembergs second team secured the Regionalliga Bayern title in the 2025-26 season.

Nuremberg signed Osawe from RB Leipzigs youth setup in August 2024 for a reported 250,000 fee, viewing him as a player capable of bridging the gap between youth and senior football. His subsequent loan to Schweinfurt and limited minutes in the 2. Bundesliga have added to the sense that a move to a 3. Liga club could offer more regular action.

For now, Osawe remains under contract at Nuremberg, with Aachen monitoring the situation as they assess whether Nuremberg would be willing to negotiate a deal.
