Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has encouraged his former club to pursue Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are reportedly seeking to bolster their attacking options following a disappointing season, and Osimhen has emerged as a potential target.
Osimhen’s impressive form
Currently on the books of Napoli, the Nigerian international has showcased his goal-scoring prowess with 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances while on loan at Galatasaray.
His performances have drawn attention from several top European clubs, including Arsenal, who are in search of a prolific striker to lead their frontline.
Gallas, who played for Arsenal between 2006 and 2010, believes Osimhen would be a perfect fit at the Emirates Stadium.
Osimhen is the player I would try to sign,” Gallas told Prime Casino. He added that the 25-year-old would provide an important attacking boost alongside Kai Havertz and other forward options at the club.
A strategic signing for Arsenal
Arsenal’s attacking struggles this season have prompted speculation about a high-profile striker signing.
With Osimhen’s pace, strength, and clinical finishing, he could offer the cutting edge that manager Mikel Arteta’s squad has been lacking in crucial moments.
As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will act on Gallas’ recommendation and make a move for Osimhen, who is expected to attract significant interest from clubs across Europe.
