RC Lens manager Will Still has expressed a strong commitment to building his team’s future around 23-year-old midfielder Neil El Aynaoui, highlighting the Moroccan’s growing influence in the squad.

El Aynaoui, who joined Lens from AS Nancy in 2023, has emerged as a key figure in the midfield, showcasing leadership qualities and technical prowess.

Still’s endorsement underscores the club’s intention to invest in the young talent, especially as El Aynaoui’s current contract, which runs until 2027, approaches its midpoint.

El Aynaoui’s journey to prominence at Lens has been marked by resilience and determination. After a challenging start to his tenure, including a failed transfer to AS Monaco due to a knee injury, he has steadily become a central figure in the team’s midfield.

His performances have not only impressed his coach but have also earned him a place among the club’s leadership group, a testament to his maturity and influence both on and off the pitch.

The club’s management is reportedly keen on extending El Aynaoui’s contract to secure his services for the long term.

However, the financial implications of such an extension are complex, especially considering the club’s current position outside of European competition.

Nevertheless, Still remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of honesty and clarity in negotiations and expressing a strong desire to build the team’s future around El Aynaoui.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the coming months will be crucial in determining the trajectory of El Aynaoui’s career at RC Lens.

The club’s ability to offer a compelling vision for the future will be key in convincing the young midfielder to commit to a new deal, ensuring that his development continues in the heart of the team.
