Wilfried Zaha linked with Botafogo move after leaving Galatasaray

Ivorian winger Wilfried Zaha, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Brazilian side Botafogo in Serie A.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Galatasaray on 1 July 2026, following the end of a loan spell at Charlotte. A move to Botafogo would offer Zaha a return to club football after his departure from the Turkish champions.

Zaha joined Galatasaray from Crystal Palace in July 2023 and helped the Istanbul club win the Turkish league and Turkish Super Cup during the 2023-24 campaign. He subsequently spent time on loan at Lyon before moving to Charlotte in January 2025.

His career record includes 44 MLS appearances, in which he scored 13 goals and provided eight assists. He has also made 30 appearances in Turkey’s Super Lig, scoring nine times and registering three assists.

Zaha remains valued at €3.5m and has extensive experience in English football, having made 305 Premier League appearances and scored 68 goals. He also recorded 126 Championship appearances during his time with Crystal Palace.

The proposed move would take Zaha to Brazil for the first time, with Botafogo identified as his potential destination. He is currently available as an unattached player, with no club listed against his name.
