Wilfried Zaha emerges as surprise Olympiacos transfer option

Wilfried Zaha could be offered a route back to European football with Olympiacos after his time in the United States came to an end.

The 33-year-old Cote d’Ivoire international is seeking a new club in Europe. Switzerland had previously been mentioned as a possible destination, as reported exclusively by Africafoot, but Greece has now emerged as another option.

According to information from Ekrem Konur, Zaha’s profile has been passed to the Olympiacos hierarchy. The club from Piraeus is assessing the proposal and is not expected to rush into a decision.

Olympiacos have the financial resources to complete a deal for the forward. However, the club’s decision-makers are first considering whether his arrival would fit the squad’s sporting priorities.

The position of manager Imanol Alguacil will be central to any further progress. Despite Zaha’s experience, the coaching staff want to be certain that he would adapt fully to the team’s tactical approach before the club makes a formal financial offer.

There is currently no agreement between Zaha and Olympiacos, and no deal has been concluded with any of the parties involved. The Abidjan-born forward is currently valued at 3.5m euros.
