Wilfried Bony’s Move to Manchester City Imminent for €40 Million
Wilfried Bony’s much-anticipated transfer to Manchester City is reportedly set to take place in the coming hours, with discussions nearing completion. Despite being away with the Ivorian national team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Bony’s agent, Francis Kacou, revealed that the striker’s move to the Sky Blues is now imminent.
According to Kacou, the transfer fee is expected to be around €40 million, a significant drop from the €75 million originally speculated. “Discussions are taking place and we hope that it will come to a conclusion soon. It looks like he will sign for Manchester City,” Kacou confirmed.
Bony, who joined Swansea from Vitesse Arnhem for €15 million in July 2013, has had an impressive stint in the Premier League, cementing his reputation as one of the top strikers in England. His excellent form at Swansea has earned him the attention of one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, Manchester City, where he will join his compatriot Yaya Touré in an already star-studded squad, which includes the likes of Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko, and Stevan Jovetić.
With talks reportedly progressing well, Bony’s move to the Etihad Stadium looks set to be officially confirmed soon, further strengthening Manchester City’s attacking options.
