Leicester City manager, Ruud Van Nistelrooy has ruled out any possibility of Wilfred Ndidi leaving the club this winter.
French Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco has expressed interest in the Nigerian midfielder.
However, Van Nistelrooy speaking to the press ahead of their game against Tottenham Hotspur said that Wilfred Ndidi is not for sale this month.
Ndidi signed a new three-year contract, with the option of a further year, in the summer after helping the Foxes win promotion back to the Premier League.
Amidst exit talks linking Ndidi with a move to Monaco, Ruud Van Nistelrooy has cleared the air, revealing the midfielder will stay put at the King Power Stadium.
“No, of course not,” he replied when asked if Ndidi, who is close to a return from a hamstring injury, could depart,” he said.
“Wilfred is a key player and person in the squad and in the club and I’m glad he is nearly there to help the team again.
“We know how much we’ve missed him and we know we need him. Wilf is key in the coming months, a key part of this team that can get us out of this situation,” he added.
Wilfred Ndidi has made 17 appearances in all appearances scoring a goal in the process.
The Nigerian international has been a mainstay in Leicester’s midfield since joining the club from Genk in January 2017.
He has made over 200 appearances for the Foxes and has been a key part of their success in recent years, including their historic Premier League title win in 2016.
