Following the successful end of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), fans across Africa and beyond are already looking forward to the next edition.
But where will FCON 2027 take place?
The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted jointly by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
This historic arrangement marks the first time the tournament will be staged across three countries and represents a significant moment for East African football, bringing the continent’s biggest football event to the region for the first time since Ethiopia hosted in 1976.
The 36th edition of AFCON is scheduled for August 2027, with plans for matches to be played in multiple venues across the three host nations.
Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania’s joint bid was approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of an effort to spread the tournament across different regions of Africa and stimulate football development in East Africa.
Later this year, countries from the various regions will compete in the qualifiers in hopes of securing a place at the tournament.
Per CAF’s calendar, the preliminary round of the qualifiers will be played during the March international break.
After an outstanding tournament in Morocco for the 2025 edition, a lot will be expected from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania to ensure a spectacular tournament.
