Pedro Obiang Ready to Make West Ham Debut After Injury Setback
After missing West Ham’s impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, Pedro Obiang is set to return for the Hammers’ upcoming Premier League clash against Leicester City.
The Spanish midfielder of Equatorial Guinean origin, signed this summer from Sampdoria, was sidelined for the season opener due to a leg muscle injury. However, Obiang has now recovered and is eager to make his mark.
“This week, I trained with the whole team, and I’m looking forward to giving the manager a slight headache, to show that I’m ready to play,” he told the club’s official website. He also explained that the injury was “mainly” due to fatigue, but emphasized he is now fit and available for selection.
Obiang’s return will bolster West Ham’s midfield options as they aim to build on their strong start to the season.
