West Brom sign French-Congolese midfielder Rabby Nzingoula from Strasbourg

French-Congolese midfielder Rabby Nzingoula has joined West Brom from Strasbourg, becoming the latest addition to the Championship club’s squad. The 20-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029.

Nzingoula moves to England after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan with German club Nuremberg. He joined Nuremberg from Strasbourg on 27 January 2026 and returned to the French side when that loan ended on 30 June.

The Lille-born player made the switch to West Brom on 11 August 2026, moving from a club competing in Ligue 1 to a side in the Championship. He is listed as a defensive midfielder and stands 1.83m tall, with his preferred foot recorded as right.

Nzingoula began his senior pathway with Strasbourg B, having joined the reserve side from Strasbourg’s under-19 team in July 2023. He moved into the Strasbourg B setup after coming through the youth system at US Orleans, where he had previously played for the under-17 side.

His recent career has included two spells away from Strasbourg. Nzingoula joined Montpellier on loan in August 2024 and returned to Strasbourg at the end of June 2025. He then spent the following campaign’s second half with Nuremberg before making his move to West Brom.

The midfielder holds French and Congolese nationality. He joins West Brom at the age of 20, with his new deal keeping him at The Hawthorns through the end of June 2029.

Nzingoula’s transfer adds a player with experience of Ligue 1, the Bundesliga 2 environment and French academy football to West Brom’s midfield options. He has now completed his move from Strasbourg and is contracted to the Championship club until 2029.
