Al Ahly striker Wessam Abu Ali is set to touch down in Cairo early Sunday morning as he gets ready to rejoin his teammates for pre-season preparations.
The Egyptian giants will begin training on Monday at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium after an 18-day break, and Wessam is expected to be part of the squad’s first session.
A club source confirmed to Kooora that the forward informed the management of his return ahead of the team’s regrouping.
“Wessam left the decision regarding the offers he received to his Belgian agent, Jacob, and the Al Ahly management, whether to stay or leave,” the source said.
The same source revealed that Jacob will accompany Wessam to Cairo for a meeting with Al Ahly officials to discuss the player’s future.
While several offers are reportedly on the table, the most likely scenario remains that Wessam Abu Ali will stay at the club for the upcoming season.
Al Ahly are hoping for clarity soon as they ramp up preparations for the new campaign.
