Wesley Fofana determined to carve lasting legacy at Chelsea with silverware
Wesley Fofana has set his sights on making history at Chelsea by helping the club lift more trophies and building a legacy fans will remember.
The French defender shared his ambitions in the latest episode of CFC Unlocked, where he reflected on his path from playing on the streets of Marseille to competing at the highest level in Europe.
Now in his fourth season at Stamford Bridge, the 24-year-old spoke openly about memorable moments such as scoring in the Champions League, making his debut for France, and being part of Chelsea’s recent Conference League and Club World Cup victories.
Injuries have tested him, but Fofana explained that staying positive has been just as important as performing on the pitch. “I feel proud [to represent Chelsea], but it’s a long way until I’m finished,” he said.
“The most important thing is to leave your mark in the history of the club – and try to do everything for the club to win trophies.”
He underlined that medals and memories define a player’s career. “When you are finished with football, this is what stays. If you play and you win nothing, that is it after your career is finished,” he added.
“The trophies and what you give on the pitch for the fans and the club are the most important thing.”
