We’re ready for Belouizdad clash – Zamalek captain Omar Gaber
Zamalek SC captain Omar Gaber has declared his outfit readiness for the decisive CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg against CR Belouizdad.
The Egyptian giants will host their Algerian counterparts in the second leg of the Confederation Cup semi-final, scheduled for Friday at Cairo International Stadium.
Zamalek head into the return leg with a slender advantage after managing a narrow away win over Belouizdad last weekend.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gaber underlined the high stakes and intensity surrounding the encounter.
“Everyone is aware of the importance and difficulty of the match and everyone is focusing very much, whether players or coaching staff. The knockout matches have different calculations and preparations.”
The experienced defender emphasized unity and readiness within the squad as they prepare for a high-pressure contest.
“All Zamalek players are ready and we wish them success.”
Drawing on the team’s experience, Gaber highlighted the internal leadership driving the group’s mindset heading into the clash.
“We talk together as players who have experience and responsibility, and we understand the difficulty and importance of the match.”
Despite the positive result away from home, Gaber made it clear that the return leg presents an entirely different challenge.
“Winning by one goal in Algeria is a good result, but the return match has different considerations, and we are talking about the match.”
