German club Werder Bremen have reached an agreement to sign Belgian forward of Congolese descent, Samuel Mbangula.
After agreeing on personal terms with the forward, the German Bundesliga side is now negotiating to agree on a transfer fee for the attacker.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport recently highlighted Bremen and Wolfsburg as key contenders for Mbangula’s signature, but the race now appears to be tipping in Bremen’s favour.
According to Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, Mbangula has agreed to a five-year deal with Werder Bremen.
The club has already submitted a second and improved bid to Juventus after their initial €8 million offer was turned down. The new proposal is reportedly valued between €10 and €12 million.
Despite Bremen’s lead in negotiations, the club faces competition, with Racing Strasbourg and Premier League side Brentford closely monitoring the situation.
The German club are confident a deal can be reached with Juventus in the coming days.
