Werder Bremen push for permanent Skelly Alvero exit

Werder Bremen are increasingly likely to part ways with French midfielder Skelly Alvero this summer, with the club preferring a permanent transfer over another loan.

The Grün-Weißen invested approximately 5 million euros in the 24-year-old when they signed him, but Alvero has yet to meet expectations. During his time at the Weserstadion, the midfielder managed just 20 Bundesliga appearances and never convincingly secured a regular first-team role.

His loan spell at Amiens SC last season also failed to deliver the hoped-for development, though Werder remain open to another loan if necessary. The club’s clear preference remains a permanent sale, unfortunately.

Complicating matters, concrete interest from other clubs appears limited. Alvero remains under contract until 2028, giving Werder leverage in negotiations, but finding a suitable buyer in the coming weeks will be challenging.

Despite his disappointing progression in Bremen and the unsuccessful French loan, the search for the right solution continues. The midfielder’s average rating over the past four seasons sits at 3.67, reflecting his struggles to establish himself.
