Werder Bremen begin Stuttgart preparation without Nigerian striker Victor Boniface
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface missed Werder Bremen’s Wednesday training start for the home game against VfB Stuttgart due to an individual load-management session, but the club has not reported a new injury, so his absence is considered precautionary.
The decision is part of a controlled plan to manage his physical workload as fixtures and training intensity increase in the run-up to Sunday’s late kick-off at the Weserstadion.
Since joining Werder, Boniface has featured regularly in the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign, making 11 league appearances and contributing 2 assists, although he is still waiting for his first goal in green and white. Across these games he has registered 15 shots on target and remains an active presence in duels and pressing actions, even when not finding the net.
Boniface is at Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, agreed without a purchase option. The deal runs until 30 June 2026, after which he is scheduled to return to his parent club unless a new agreement is reached.
