Wendie Renard, born on July 20, 1990, in Schœlcher, Martinique, is a prominent football player known for her defensive and attacking skills. She plays for Lyon in the French women’s football team and has had a successful career.
Her journey began at the age of 7 when she started learning the fundamentals at Essor Préchotin, playing in a boys’ team. At 15, she joined the overseas division of François high school and continued her passion with Rapid C. Le Lorrain during the weekends. Although she failed the entrance exam to the Clairefontaine national training center, she was picked up by Olympique Lyonnais (OL) in 2007.
Wendie Renard joined the Lyon professional group in July 2007, winning the championship in her first season. In October of the same year, she began her international journey with the under-19 French national team. She participated in the U19 Euro in 2008 and the U20 World Cup in Chile.
In March 2011, she played and won her first international match with the senior French national team against Switzerland (2-0).
