Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller says his outfit will strive to retain the CAF Champions League title after securing qualification to the semifinals.
The Egyptian giants continued their winning streak with a 1-0 victory over Sudanese outfit Al Hilal in the second leg on Tuesday evening in Mauritania, after winning the first leg with a similar scoreline in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
Having secured qualification, the Swiss tactician has set sights on defending the Champions League title.
“We are constantly improving and working on correcting our mistakes. Our team continues to strive to retain our Champions League title.” He said.
Koller then opened up on playing on artificial pitch as one of the major challenges the sides faced.
Al Ahly will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinals of the CAF Champions League. The first leg of the much-anticipated clash has been scheduled for April 19, 2025, as both teams battle for a place in the final.
