We’ll do our best to beat Tanzania and Niger in World Cup qualifiers – Zambia coach Avram Grant
Zambia coach Avram Grant has set sights on securing victories in their final 2026 World Cup qualifying matches this month.
The Chipolopolo takes on Tanzania on Wednesday afternoon in an away fixture before playing host to Niger in the final round of the qualifying series on home turf.
Grant’s outfit currently sit fourth in Group E, accumulating just six points from eight matches, undermining their qualification chances.
However, the former Black Stars coach has set sights on picking all points in the final two games in an attempt to finish second in their group.
“We are ready for the game. I do not know if we do not have a chance to qualify but we have a chance to finish second in the group. We will do our best and win the games. Calculations will be done afterwards”
“We wanted to qualify for the first time in the history of Zambia but I am sure we will continue in this course; we will qualify for sure. At the moment, we have these two games to concentrate on and try to win them.” He told FAZ media in an interview.
The 70-year-old Israeli trainer was appointed as the head coach of Zambia in 2022 and has since made strides with the national team.
