Krunoslav Jurcica sets high ambitions for Pyramids FC in CAF Champions League

Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurcic appeared not be happy with officiating following the sides stalemate against Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptian club held Orlando Pirates to a pulsating goalless draw in the first of the semifinals at the Iconic FNB Stadium. The Egyptian club will go into the return clash with a slender advantage, having secured a crucial away draw.

With this, Pyramids stands a huge chance of reaching their first-ever CAF Champions League final with a gritty 0-0 draw.

After the game, Jurcic expressed his frustrations following the stalemate against Pirates, declaring his side as winners in the game despite the draw.

“I love Africa but not today. For me, we won 2-0.”

Jurcic’s remarks, which have been interpreted as undermining CAF’s officiating, could lead to a potential touchline ban for the crucial second leg in Cairo on April 25.

Despite his anger over the officiating, Jurcic took time to praise his team’s performance. He said:

“I’m proud of the team. They were warriors tonight. We deserved to win. It’s not easy to score 2 goals away from home and see both cancelled. We’ll fight in Cairo.”

He also warned against underestimating Orlando Pirates, pointing to their impressive victories over Al Ahly and in Algeria during the quarter-finals.
