Egyptian defender, Ahmed Eid said, has struck confidence tone ahead of the knockout phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, insisting the side will not return to their country without the covetous trophy.
The Pharaohs finished on top pf Group B with seven points, one point ahead of second-placed South Africa, who defeated Zimbabwe 3-2 on Monday.
Before the final group game, Egypt had already secured a place in the round of 16 after back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe (2-1) and South Africa (1-0).
Eid Said, who plies his trade for Al Masry stressed the squad was united behind a single objective after securing qualification to the Round of 16.
“We want to make all the Egyptian people happy, and we want to make them even happier when we return with the trophy,” he told Al Kass TV on Monday. “We will not return from Morocco without the championship cup.”
Egypt, seven-time champions, are seeking to reclaim the continental title as they enter the decisive phase of the Africa Cup of Nations, buoyed by strong performances and growing belief within the camp.
