Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, has expressed his desire to see Egyptian star Mohamed Salah play in the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking in an interview with Piers Morgan, Al-Faisal highlighted the strong cultural and historical ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, emphasizing the significance of Salah’s potential move.
“Of course, if he fits all the parameters, we would love to have him here. We feel a strong connection with Egyptians in terms of culture, history, and so on. It would be a privilege to see Mo Salah or other role-model footballers in Saudi Arabia,” he stated.
However, the minister acknowledged that any potential transfer would ultimately depend on negotiations between the clubs involved.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Mohamed Salah has rejected a contract extension offer from Liverpool. As things stand, it is understood that he will leave the English Club at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
