Algeria international Amine Gouiri says he and his teammates will do everything possible to snatch qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
The North African giants currently sit top of Group D on goal difference after triumphing over Botswana in the fifth round of the qualifiers. The Desert Warriors are tied on 12 points with closest rivals, Mozambique.
Amine Gouiri, who plies his trade for Olympique Marseille netted a brace to inspire Algeria to secure a 3-1 win over their opponent last Friday.
Algeria is seeking to qualify for the World Cup for the fifth time in their history and it’s first since the 2014 edition in Brazil, where Germany emerged as champions.
In an interview, Gouiri affirmed his outfit will do everything possible to secure to the qualification to the biggest soccer mundial.
“We will do our best and do everything in our power to qualify for the World Cup, as we have missed two consecutive editions since our last qualification,” Guerri said as quoted on FIFA’s official website.
Algeria will lock horns with Mozambique in a crunch clash on Tuesday, as both teams battle for the World Cup qualification.
