Al-Ittihad Alexandria’s football director, Islam Adel, has clarified the club’s stance on reported negotiations with Zamalek over striker Nasser Mansi.
The Alexandria side has been active in the winter transfer window, securing notable additions such as Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Khaled Abdel Fattah.
Speaking to Al-Mehwar TV, Adel confirmed that the club is indeed searching for a new forward, which is why Mansi’s name has been linked with a move to Al-Ittihad.
“It is natural that Nasser Mansi’s name is linked to a move to Al-Ittihad Alexandria because we are looking to sign a new striker.
“We surveyed Zamalek about signing Nasser Mansi at an earlier time, but we did not negotiate with the player officially. There are other players nominated to strengthen Al-Ittihad’s attack, and we have not settled on a name yet.”
Adel also dismissed reports linking Al-Ittihad with a move for Mahmoud Kahraba.
“We did not raise the idea of signing Mahmoud Kahraba, and the topic was not even opened in the first place. Kahraba is a great player in Egyptian football, but we are not thinking of signing him.”
Kahraba is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Kuwait’s Al-Qadisiyah.
