French defender with Malian parents, Ibrahim Konate was candid in his post-match interview on Wednesday night after Liverpool laboured to defeat PSG 1-0 in the Uefa Champions League.
The defender was in action for the English Premier League outfit for the game that served as the first-leg meeting of the Round 16 tie against the French Ligue 1 club.
Despite the dominance of PSG, Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Ibrahima Konate admitted that Liverpool suffered at the hands of the Parisians.
He stressed that his team can be delighted with the result despite the difficulty.
“Like I said, sometimes in the Champions League it’s like that. We saw a great team. Sometimes the opponent dominates the game. But at the end, we just remember who won the game.
“Today we suffered a little bit but we had to accept it to make the effort all together. We ran until the end and that’s why at the end we scored, and we are very happy,” Ibrahima Konate said.
