Jesse Lingard has shared his excitement about the return of Paul Pogba to professional football, sending an encouraging message to his former Manchester United teammate on social media.
Pogba, who is expected to resume his career with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco next season, has been working on regaining full fitness following an 18-month doping ban.
Pogba, who has Guinean roots despite representing France internationally, has been a free agent since parting ways with Juventus earlier this year.
He has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with Monaco, signalling a fresh chapter in his career after months of rehabilitation and training.
The 32-year-old midfielder recently posted photos from an individual training session that included Fiorentina’s Amir Richardson and NFL star Tyreek Hill, generating buzz about his return.
Reacting to the post, Lingard, one of Pogba’s closest friends during their time together at Manchester United, commented, “Hurry up, we ready my bro!”
Pogba has remained optimistic despite his time away from the pitch, revealing that several clubs have shown interest in him.
“I haven’t signed anything, but there’s interest. We’ll see,” he told media recently, adding that he’s mentally and physically prepared for the next challenge.
“I’m 32, but I still feel like a young kid,” Pogba said. His comeback is now one of the most anticipated storylines ahead of the new season.
