We never considered coach Krunoslav Jurcic’s sacking – Pyramids FC
Sporting Director of Pyramids FC, Hani Saeed insists his outfit never considered parting ways with head coach Krunoslav Jurcic.
The 55-year-old Croatian tactician joined the Egyptian outfit in early 2024, masterminding for the club’s maiden CAF Champions League triumph last season.
Earlier reports suggested Pyramids and Jurcic could part ways despite having an existing contract with the Egyptian outfit.
However, the former Egyptian player has moved to deny such reports, saying his outfit has never considered Jurcic’s sacking, as he remains part of their project.
“We never considered the coach leaving. This rumor spread before the Al-Ahly match in the league this season, through social media, but this was not true.”
“Jurcic is a great coach, and he has a project with us, and we did not think about his departure. It was said at the time that the Al-Ahly match would decide the fate of Jurcic, or the former Al-Ahly coach, Jose Ribeiro, but Pyramids never thought in this way.”
Meanwhile, Pyramids, who are reigning CAF Champions League holders succumbed to a 5-4 penalty shootouts defeat to Zamalek after a pulsating goalless draw in regulation time.
Despite their dominant performance, Pyramids fell short to Zamalek at the stadium of Al Wahda Club in the UAE.
Having suffered defeat to Zamalek, Pyramids will now face Ceramica Cleopatra in the third-place match. Meanwhile Zamalek have set up a rivalry final match against Al Ahly on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Despite missing out on final, Pyramids will be hoping to triumph over Ceramica Cleopatra to secure the bronze medal of the Egyptian Cup.
