‘We must help Youssoufa Moukoko to succeed’, says FC Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup

The head coach of FC Copenhagen, Jacob Neestrup, has indicated his readiness to help new signing Youssoufa Moukoko to succeed at the club.

The Danish champions completed the signing of the Cameroonian forward from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 28.

Speaking on the new signing, FC Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup backed Youssoufa Moukoko to succeed.

“Moukoko brings speed, technique and goal scoring potential to our attack. He comes with a will to win, a confident attitude that matches well with F.C. Copenhagen. He has proven his level in the Bundesliga and in European football.

“He is the type of striker who can do something on his own. He is a dribbler, can combine in small spaces, finishes smartly and is dangerous in the box. He is also strong and aggressive in his pressing game. I am very much looking forward to integrating him into our plans and getting the best out of his qualities,” the coach said as quoted on the FC Copenhagen website.

Coach Neestrup added, “On the other hand, we also know that Youssoufa comes with a crazy amount of pressure because he has been heralded as one of the next greats in world football – with all that comes with that.

“That’s why we also have to help manage that part here in Copenhagen, and thus give both Youssoufa and F.C. Copenhagen the best opportunities to succeed.”

At FC Copenhagen, Moukoko has signed a deal until the summer of 2030. He will be hoping to excel at the club after ending his long stay at Borussia Dortmund.
