Leroy Sane’s agent Pini Zahavi has confirmed that discussions are ongoing with Bayern Munich over a potential contract extension, despite the German winger being heavily linked with a Premier League return.
Sane, whose roots lie in Senegal through his father Souleymane Sane, is approaching the final month of his current deal with the Bundesliga champions.
The 29-year-old had recently declined Bayern’s initial renewal proposal and changed representation to Zahavi, a move widely interpreted as a signal of intent to explore offers abroad.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs closely monitoring his situation.
However, speaking to Sky Deutschland after meeting Bayern officials, Zahavi offered a tempered update on where things stand: “We had a very good dinner, it was a nice dinner, I enjoyed it. But no news. I cannot speak about it, but it was a nice meeting.”
The latest round of talks follows Bayern’s revised offer, which is reported to be in the region of €13 million per year—an improvement on their earlier proposal of €10 million.
While the club is keen to avoid losing Sane for free, they also remain wary of entering into a financial battle that could disrupt their wage structure.
Sane, who joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2020, has enjoyed a steady campaign and remains a key figure in the squad under new head coach Vincent Kompany.
His pace and creativity continue to make him an attractive prospect for clubs in England, particularly Tottenham and Arsenal, both of whom are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season.
With pre-season preparations set to begin next month, Bayern are eager to resolve the uncertainty around Sane’s future swiftly.
