Algeria international Amine Gouiri has fired a stern warning to Mozambique ahead of their crucial meeting in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The North African giants will play host to Mozambique in the sixth round of the qualifying series on Tuesday.
Algeria currently sit top of Group D on goal difference after triumphing over Botswana in the fifth round of the qualifiers last Friday.
Tied on points after five games, both teams will be yearning for maximum points to better their chances of securing World Cup berth.
Ahead of the game, Gouiri, who plies his trade for Olympique Marseille says his outfit are not afraid of any opponent as the team prepare to face Mozambique.
“We don’t fear any team. We know what we’re capable of. I think we’re the favorites in the group, but that’s precisely where the danger lies, because all the matches are difficult.”
Meanwhile, Amine Gouiri insists his outfit will do everything possible to snatch qualification over other opponents.
“We will do our best and do everything in our power to qualify for the World Cup, as we have missed two consecutive editions since our last qualification,” Guerri added in his statements, as reported by FIFA’s official website.
Algeria is seeking to qualify for the World Cup for the fifth time in their history and it’s first since the 2014 edition in Brazil, where Germany emerged as champions.
