Watford confirm Jordan Zemura signing on season-long loan from Udinese

Watford have confirmed the signing of Jordan Zemura on a one-year loan from Udinese, with the defender returning to England to play in the Championship this season.

The move was officially announced by Watford on Sunday and will see Zemura begin a new spell in English football. The 25-year-old previously played in the Championship with Bournemouth, and that experience was a key reason behind Watford’s decision to bring him to the club.

Zemura’s arrival gives Watford a player who is already familiar with the demands of the division. His previous Championship experience was highlighted by the club’s technical director Gian Luca Nani, who also pointed to the defender’s development during his time in Italy.

Nani described Zemura as a complete full-back, emphasising his technical ability and quality in possession. He also said the player could make a contribution in attacking phases, while his experience in Serie A had strengthened him defensively.

The loan agreement will last for the whole season, with Zemura joining Watford from Udinese. The move represents a return to both England and the Championship for the defender after his previous spell with Bournemouth.

Watford’s decision to recruit Zemura is therefore based largely on his understanding of the competition and his experience at Bournemouth. His time in Serie A has also been identified as an important part of his development, particularly in the defensive side of his game.

The club has now made the transfer official, confirming that Zemura will spend the season at Watford on loan from Udinese.
