Wassim Bouziane: Dutch-Moroccan winger steps up to AZ Alkmaar first team on long-term deal

AZ Alkmaar have promoted Dutch-Moroccan winger Wassim Bouziane to their first-team squad, with the 19-year-old signing a contract running until 30 June 2030. The left-sided attacker moves up from AZ Alkmaars U21 side and will wear the number 44 shirt in the Eredivisie.

Born in Amsterdam in December 2006, Bouziane has come through the AZ system after joining from Fortuna Sittards youth ranks in 2019. His elevation caps a steady rise through the clubs academy structure, having represented AZ at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level over the past four seasons.

Bouziane, who is right-footed but operates primarily from the left wing, has already built up experience in senior and international club competitions. He has made four Eredivisie appearances and featured in the UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as playing regularly in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie for AZs U21 team.

In the Dutch second tier he has recorded 24 appearances, scoring five goals and providing three assists, while also contributing in the UEFA Youth League with five goals and six assists in 15 matches. His youth record with AZ includes prolific spells at U17 and U18 level, where he consistently combined goals and creativity across league and cup campaigns.

Bouzianes current market value is listed at 450,000, reflecting his growing role within the clubs set-up. Having now committed his future to AZ until 2030, he completes his progression from the academy to the Eredivisie sides senior squad.
