Victor Wanyama, the Kenyan international midfielder, continues to attract interest from major European clubs. Despite previous rumors linking him to Stade Rennais, it is now reported that Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have expressed interest in signing Wanyama from Celtic Glasgow.
The defensive midfielder, who is under contract with Celtic until June 2015, has been a key player for the Scottish club. Wanyama began his football journey in the Kenyan Championship with Nairobi City Stars and AFC Leopards before moving to Europe. He played for Helsingborgs IF in Sweden and later joined Belgian club Beerschot AC.
In July 2011, Wanyama signed a four-year contract with Celtic FC, where he achieved success, winning the Scottish championship title. The Kenyan midfielder has also been a regular member of the national team since making his debut in May 2007.
Queens Park Rangers’ reported interest in Wanyama highlights his status as a sought-after player in the European football market.
