Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Tuesday the signing of Walid Yacoubou, who will join the USL side until the end of the season from IFK Holmsund.

The 22-year-old defender previously played collegiate football at North Carolina Wesleyan College and Prince George’s Community College, and he now embarks on his first professional experience with Tulsa Roughnecks FC. The move represents an important step in Yacoubou’s career, allowing him to test his skills in a competitive professional environment and develop further as a player.

“Walid is a player the coach has been following for several weeks,” said Wayne Farmer, manager of Tulsa Roughnecks FC. “He is a powerful player and will bring density to our defensive line.” Farmer’s remarks underline the club’s confidence in Yacoubou’s physical presence and defensive abilities, which are expected to strengthen the team’s backline in the coming months.

Yacoubou’s signing highlights Tulsa Roughnecks FC’s commitment to identifying young talent and integrating them into the squad, adding depth and versatility to the roster as the team looks to compete strongly in the USL this season.
