Walid Sadi has been re-elected as president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) following an uncontested election at the Extraordinary General Elective Assembly held on Tuesday at the National Army Circle in Beni Messous, Algiers.
The 48-year-old, who was the sole candidate for the position, secured a new four-year mandate after receiving overwhelming support from voting members.
Sadi, also set to join the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in March, won 78 votes out of the 80 cast. One vote was against him, while another was declared invalid.
Sadi’s re-election ensures continuity in the leadership of Algerian football, with a newly formed executive team that includes two vice-presidents and five substitute members.
The election was conducted in the presence of representatives from both the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), who attended as observers.
The event also saw the participation of prominent football figures, including former Minister of Youth and Sports Ould Ali and JS Kabylie president, who were present during the voting process.
