Walid Sabbar: Moroccan midfielder joins Al-Khaldiya from Wydad AC in €87k move
Moroccan midfielder Walid Sabbar has joined Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya from Wydad AC in a permanent transfer worth €87,000. The 30-year-old central midfielder makes the move after a season with the Casablanca giants and links up with his new club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Sabbar, born in Casablanca and standing at 1.77m, brings experience in the heart of midfield and signs for Al-Khaldiya with a current market valuation of €400,000. The move marks his first switch into Bahraini club football following a career spent between Morocco and the Gulf region.
He arrived at Wydad AC in August 2025 from RCA Zemamra, where he had joined a year earlier on a free transfer after a spell at Al-Arabi. Prior to that, Sabbar had returned to Raja Casablanca from Emirates Club in 2022, adding another chapter to a long association with Raja that began in their youth and reserve ranks.
Sabbar’s honours include lifting the Moroccan Cup once with Raja Club Athletic in the 2016-17 season, underlining his experience in domestic cup competition. His career has also included a loan spell at KACM Marrakech and a period in the UAE with Emirates Club, reflecting a versatility in adapting to different leagues in the region.
Right-footed and operating primarily as a central midfielder, Sabbar now embarks on the next stage of his career with Al-Khaldiya following the completion of his transfer from Wydad AC on 23 July 2026.
