Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has put an end to recent speculation surrounding potential changes to his technical team.
Earlier this month, reports suggested that Regragui was considering reshuffling his backroom staff due to the team’s underwhelming performances, despite an impressive 12-match unbeaten run.
However, new developments indicate that the 48-year-old tactician has decided to stick with his current coaching setup.
This means assistant coaches Rachid Benmahmoud and Abdelaziz Bouhazama, as well as goalkeeping coach Omar El Harrak, will all retain their roles.
Regragui is said to have convinced Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Federation, to keep his technical team intact, emphasising his continued trust in their abilities moving forward.
Meanwhile, Tariq Sektioui, who guided Morocco’s Olympic team to a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Games, had reportedly been a frontrunner to join Regragui’s staff but will now remain on the sidelines of the senior setup—for now.
